Founded in the Edo period, the company has been brewing sake for more than 200 years in Furudono-machi, a small town rich in nature located in the Abukuma mountain range. The majority of its products are consumed by locals, mainly in Ishikawa-gun and the former Higashi Shirakawa-gun. Its sake is made from natural ingredients and passion. Toyokuni Shuzo, however, believes that sake can only be called ‘jizake’ (local sake) when it reaches the local people’s daily lives.
